Sisters for Empowerment and Assistance (SEA) is a national women founded and women-led organization in Kenya advancing gender equality, peacebuilding, and social justice. The organization was initially founded and registered on 22nd March 2007 as Community Disability Concern (CDC) but later the name was changed to Sisters for Empowerment and Assistance (SEA). It was founded to address the systemic inequalities affecting women, girls, and marginalized groups. SEA operates across arid and semi-arid lands (ASAL) in Kenya championing inclusive governance, peacebuilding, health rights, mental health and climate resilience.
SEA combines humanitarian response with long-term development approaches to ensure that women, girls, and vulnerable communities have equal opportunities to thrive. Through partnerships with community leaders, government institutions, and grassroots movements, SEA creates pathways for empowerment, dignity, and sustainable change.
As SEA we ensure women and girls have access to quality, dignified Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) services and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), reducing mortality and morbidity.

Women and girls face severe barriers to accessing essential Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) services and mental health support. High maternal mortality, unintended pregnancies, and the profound, unaddressed psychological trauma from conflict, displacement, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) cripple their potential and well-being.
